Matilda: chapters 1-3

Matilda loves to read books and is very clever. I loved the part where she met her new teacher, Miss Honey because she was kind to her.

Please can you encourage your child to try and complete the learning tools in their reading records independently (aim for one a week) They will receive 2 house points for every learning tool completed. Thank you, Mrs Wood 😊

Please read with your child every day for 10–15 minutes. Record this in their reading records (2/3 times a week). The children have been reminded to change their books independently and as needed. Please use the blooms questions at the back of the reading records to help with questions when they have read some of the text.

Spelling

This week we have been spelling words where the digraph 'ey' makes an /ee/ sound. These are set in Ed Shed.

Your username and password for Ed Shed is at the beginning of your reading records.

Autumn Term Week 1

Welcome back to Year 2. It has been lovely to see everyone and catch up with what you have all been up to over the summer. We have had a busy day recapping the school and classroom rules, completing our own class charter, talking about how to be safe online, as well as setting up our English and maths books and reviewing how to present our work neatly. We are now all ready to start our learning next week!
